Trade Rumor: 2 Potential Destinations for Kings' Jonathan Quick

The Los Angeles Kings have named Cal Petersen their number one goalie this season which opens up the possibility of veteran netminder Jonathan Quick being traded.

The 35-year-old Quick has two years left on his contract, paying him $5.8 million per season. He's coming off a season where he wasn't at his best, posting a .898 save %. While everyone knew there would be competition at Kings' training camp this summer, it's still a shock to see Quick named the backup.

2 Potential Trade Destinations for Quick

Boston Bruins: The Bruins are rolling with Jeremy Swayman after big ticket free agent Linus Ullmark struggled in the preseason. Quick could be dealt for Ullmark and send him to Boston where he has some connections to the area. While he doesn't hold no-trade protection, if the Kings were to trade Quick, the goaltender would have some sort of say in the matter. Boston would be high on the list.

Edmonton Oilers: Quick and Mike Smith could form the oldest goaltending tandem in the league, but they would also be a solid duo. The Oilers are going for it this season, so expect to see them deal some prospects and their first-round pick for some help. The Kings would make them pay quite the price in any deal between the two clubs.
