Video: Alex Ovechkin Injured Against Philadelphia Flyers

After hitting Philadelphia Flyers forward Travis Konecny, Alex Ovechkin fell and hobbled off the ice. Ovechkin then left the game with a lower-body injury.
As hockey fans, we all should be hoping that this is nothing too serious and just the Capitals playing it safe since it's only the preseason. The 36-year-old winger also got off the ice on his own, too.

Ovechkin is still the best player on the Capitals, so they certainly cannot afford to lose him for the start of the regular season. In 45 games last season, he scored 24 goals and had 42 points.

He also is aiming of course to break Wayne Gretzky's goal record. At this juncture, he is currently at 730 career goals and needs 165 to officially pass Gretzky. He signed a five-year deal with the Capitals over the summer, so he needs to average just 33 goals per season to do so.

Here's to hoping this is nothing too serious and Ovechkin won't miss any time. It is always very fun when he is on the ice playing.
