Video: Jani Hakanpaa Ejected After Kneeing Drew Doughty

In Friday night's tilt, Dallas Stars defenseman Jani Hakanpaa was ejected after kneeing Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty. Doughty stayed down on the ice and then was escorted off the ice by a trainer and teammate Mikey Anderson.
When looking at Doughty after the hit, it seems rather likely that he is unfortunately injured. It was a very hard knee-on-knee hit. One could argue that Hakanpaa wasn't aiming for Doughty's knee with the hit, but the end result still is a bad one.

It will be interesting to see if Hakanpaa has a meeting with NHL Player Safety. Do you feel that it's justifiable if he does? Let us know in the comments.

Lastly, here's to hoping that Doughty was just shaken up on the play and doesn't have a long-term injury. He's been off to a fantastic start this season, as he has a goal and seven points in just four games.
