Boston Bruins Call Up Top Prospect

In an attempt to help with their lack of depth scoring, the Boston Bruins have called up prospect Oskar Steen from the Providence Bruins.

Although Boston's first line has been spectacular as always, the rest of the lineup hasn't been producing nearly enough. Besides Taylor Hall and Charlie Coyle, the rest of their forward group have three points or less. Craig Smith, who plays second line minutes, also hasn't recorded a single point in eight games.

The Bruins are hoping Steen can help change with this monstrous problem. The 23-year-old is raising his value significantly this campaign so far. In seven games with Providence, he has five goals and 10 points. In his loan game with the Boston this year, he also recorded an assist with a beautiful saucer pass.

We will have to wait and see if Steen can help provide a spark that the Bruins need. At this time, they do have a 6-5-0 record, but if the first line cools down and scoring depth remains an issue, a long losing streak may be on the way. That could hurt their playoff chances a lot in the highly competitive Atlantic Division.
