Colorado Avalanche Sign Head Coach To Extension
The Colorado Avalanche have signed head coach Jared Bednar to a two-year extension. It will expire at the end of the 2023-24 season.
Although the Avalanche have yet to win a Stanley Cup during Bednar's tenure behind the bench, they've had a lot of overall success. At this juncture, Bednar has a 192-154-540 record and is one win away from tying Bob Hartley for most wins by an Avalanche coach. Along with that, he led the Avalanche to a President's Trophy last season. Therefore, it is easy to see why they decided to keep him around.
Bednar's biggest challenge now is to get Colorado past the second round of the playoffs. Over the last three seasons, they were defeated in it. When looking at how strong their roster is, it's apparent that they are capable of doing more and among the Stanley Cup favorites.
Nonetheless, congrats to Jared on the extension!
