New Jersey Devils Claim Forward Off Waivers

Nathan Bastian is once again a member of the New Jersey Devils, as they claimed him off of waivers from the Seattle Kraken.

This isn't all too surprising to see, as the Kraken selected Bastian from the Devils during last summer's expansion draft. Given the fact that he's a 6'4" forward who is still just 23 years old, it's likely that they weren't too happy to lose him for nothing. Now, that ultimately does not matter, as he's back in Jersey.

In 12 games this season with the Kraken, Bastian had a goal and an assist. With that, he clearly played with a real edge, as he had a monstrous 31 penalty minutes. Yet, his time with the team seemed like it was inevitably going to end, as he last played for them on November 9th.

In 49 games with the Devils during the two previous seasons, Bastian had six goals and 13 points. Now, he will have the chance to build on those totals during his second stint with the club. Lastly, we just so happened to call this yesterday.
