Trade Rumor: Arizona Coyotes Closing in on Multiple Trades

The Arizona Coyotes are on pace to be the worst team in NHL history. They are 1-12-1 on the season and won't be winning many games any time soon. What we can expect are some moves and expect to see a trade or two coming from the Desert.

The team continues to shop multiple veterans including Phil Kessel, Antoine Roussel, and Johan Larsson. It's basically a guarantee that all three are moved, with Larsson and Roussel likely dealt before the new year.

Kessel on the other hand will likely be moved closer to the trade deadline as there will be a ton of interest in the American sniper. Kessel has produced everywhere he's played and the two-time Stanley Cup champion is someone who can take a team over the hump and provide some secondary scoring to a contending team. The 34-year-old is off to his worst start of his career, with only five points in 14 games but can you really blame him?

All three veterans are pending unrestricted free-agents and the Coyotes are trying to stock pile draft picks for 2022 and beyond. So far Arizona has eight picks in the first two rounds of the 2022 draft and including 3 first-rounders and 5 second-rounders. Something like we've never seen before considering they will land another top-pick for Kessel.

Teams who the Coyotes have been in contact with include the Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche, and Edmonton Oilers. All three are monitoring the market and will be buyers this season. The Coyotes on the other hand, are sellers. Understatement of the year.
