Tuukka Rask to Sign With the Boston Bruins

Tuukka Rask is returning to the NHL and he gets his wish, it's with the Boston Bruins. The Finnish netminder made it pretty loud and clear this offseason that he was only interested in returning to the NHL as a Bruin and now signs on for the rest of the season.

Bruins general manager Don Sweeney met with the media on Tuesday and had this to say:

If he's healthy and wants to play, he is likely to be a part of our group.

Rask hasn't played since being pulled during Game 5 of the second-round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season. While the team wasn't sure of his alignment at the time, it was later found out that he suffered a torn labrum in his hip.

Rask has been skating at the Bruins practice facility basking begging the Bruins to give him a contract. It sounds like those terms should be agreed upon soon and pen to paper should be happening within the next 10 days.

Rask went 15-5-2 last season with a 2.28 GAA and a .913 save percentage. The Bruins currently have both Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman on the active roster.
