Anaheim Ducks Losing Captain For Weeks

The Anaheim Ducks are going to be without captain Ryan Getzlaf for at least a couple of weeks starting tonight against the Calgary Flames.

The injury appeared to originally happen earlier in the week when the Ducks were facing the Los Angeles Kings. Getzlaf was injured in the first period after hitting the board awkwardly.

The Ducks have surprised many this season across the NHL and a big reason of their success is the fact Getzlaf has turned back the clock. This injury is certainly going to be a bump in the road in what's been a great season for the veteran who is starting to put himself back into the Team Canada Olympic conversation.

Getzlaf has appeared in 23 games and has recorded one goal and 21 assists. Last season in 48 games he only managed 17 points so it's an obvious great sign to see for the Ducks and for Getzlaf.

Look for the team to lean on Adam Henrique, Troy Terry and Trevor Zegras to help lead the offense in Getzlaf's absence.
