Buffalo Sabres Call Up Two Top Prospects

The Buffalo Sabres will be getting a closer look at two of their best prospects, as the team has called up Peyton Krebs and JJ Peterka from the Rochester Americans. With that, Arttu Ruotsalainen has been, too.

The Sabres currently have multiple players in COVID-19 protocol, so it isn't surprising to see them recall these three forwards. At this said juncture, they are still set to play the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday night.

All eyes will be on Krebs, as he was one of the main pieces that came back from the Vegas Golden Knights in the Jack Eichel deal. The 2019 first-round pick has been performing very well in the AHL this season. In 18 games between the Henderson Silver Knights and Rochester Americans, he has four goals and 19 points. He also was held off the scoresheet in nine games with Vegas.

Peterka has also been playing well with the Americans this season. In 23 games, he has four goals to go along with 20 total points. Keep in mind, this is the 19-year-old's first taste of professional hockey in North America. Right now, it's fair to say that the Sabres are happy about the fact that they drafted him 34th overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Assuming Buffalo utilizes them in the lineup for Wednesday's contest, Sabre fans will be getting their first look at the future of the organization. That's pretty exciting to say the least.
