Evander Kane Comments on "Rift" With Sharks Teammates

Evander Kane is riding the bus in the American Hockey League after the San Jose Sharks waived the veteran winger. Kane is looking forward to getting back into game shape and is currently quite confused with all the talk surrounding his teammates concerns with him in San Jose.

Kane practiced with his newest team for the first time on Tuesday and had this to say following his on-ice session:

I don't think you're going to have a group of people for ... 150, 160 days get along perfectly. I think there's been a big misconception of the entire team or multiple players. It's funny, I had my end of the year meeting last year, and it was nothing but positive, positive, positive, and how great I was with the young guys, how great of a season I had. But apparently something happened in the summer that I wasn't aware of. It was all new to me and news to me. It was interesting. I've been doing my own thing, getting myself prepared. Handling my business, as I'm sure they have. I think we have a good plan in place. I'm not going to get into that too much. But I'm looking forward to it.

The plan is rumored to include Kane getting some ice-time in the AHL and once he gets his wind back, he will be called back up to the Sharks. From there it's touch and go as Kane's name is floating around in several trade rumors.

The Sharks are willing to retain some of his $7 million annual salary and that's certainly sparked some league wide interest in the power forward. Regardless of all the baggage that comes with Kane, he's one hell of a hockey player coming off a career season.

Kane went on to mention that is now fully vaccinated and will comply with all league health and safety protocols. Sounds like the use of fake identification is behind him. So too could be his time with a Shark as it sounds like a trade will be happening soon.
