NHL Rumors: Chicago Blackhawks Receiving Multiple Trade Offers

The Chicago Blackhawks are expected to be busy moving some players out in the coming weeks. According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the team has several players they're receiving trade calls on.

According to Pagnotta, the Blackhawks have held trade talks regarding struggling forward Dylan Strome and defenseman Calvin de Haan:

Both players make sense for Chicago to move as de Haan is a pending unrestricted free agent who could provide contending teams with some depth. So far in 23 games though, he's yet to register a point and at $4.5 million on the salary cap, the Blackhawks shouldn't be expecting these trade offers to be blowing their socks off. They will likely have to settle on a mid-round pick for their 30-year-old mobile defenseman. It's certainly been a down year for the Blackhawks and de Haan is dead smack in the middle of the disappointment.

As for Strome, many felt the new head coach would be able to get his game going, and after early implications appeared so, that hasn't been the case at all. The former third-overall pick has recorded just two goals and five points in 16 games and often times finds himself stapled to the bench. Strome makes $3 million annually on the cap, and is a pending restricted free agent. There's been some talks about a swap with the Boston Bruins for Jake DeBrusk but that appears to be off the table at this point.

Keep an eye on the Blackhawks, for now it appears they are willing to move out some depth players on expiring contracts. These discussions however, could turn themselves into some much bigger deals...
