2 Players Could Return Soon For Wild

According to Michael Russo, Jared Spurgeon and Cam Talbot could return to the team during next weekend's back-to-back contests against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Wild have been extremely shorthanded as of late, but things are slowly getting better for them. This week alone, they had players like Kirill Kaprizov, Jordan Greenway, and Brandon Duhaime return to the lineup. This is great to see, but it will be even better when Spurgeon and Talbot are once again back on the ice.

Spurgeon last played in December 16th's contest against the Buffalo Sabres. It's been another solid season for the captain, as he has three goals, eight assists, and a plus-8 rating. The Wild will benefit from having their top defenseman back in the lineup.

Talbot hasn't played since the Wild's Winter Classic loss to the St. Louis Blues. In 24 games this season, he has a 15-8-1 record, 3.00 goals-against average, and a .909 save percentage. Overall, he's had some rough moments, but the Wild are better having him in the net than not.

The Wild need to get healthy, it will be very good for them to have these two back next weekend. At this time, they are fourth-place in the Central Division with a 22-10-2 record. They are trying to catch up to the top teams in their division, so this could be a big boost for them.
