Video: Maple Leafs' Liljegren Scores First NHL Goal

In Saturday night's game against the St. Louis Blues, Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Timothy Liljegren scored his first NHL goal with a hard one-timer from the point.

It's hard not to feel happy for Liljegren. The 22-year-old defenseman has been playing well this season, but just was not able to score that first goal. In his 21st game of the season and 34th of his career, he now has it.

Over the two previous seasons, Liljegren played in 13 total games, so this is his first long stay at the NHL level. The 2017 first-round pick is certainly playing well and has the tools to only improve from here.

This game ended up being a wacky one to say the least, as the Maple Leafs would defeat the Blues by a 6-5 final score. With this, they now have a 24-9-3 record, while the St. Louis has fallen to 22-11-5.
