Golden Knights Sign 3 Players To Extensions

The Vegas Golden Knights have signed three players to contract extensions. They are as followed:

Brayden McNabb: Three years, $2.85 million AAV

Michael Amadio: Two years, $762,500 AAV

Logan Thompson: Three years, $766,667 AAV

Out of the trio, McNabb is clearly the biggest name and his cap hit shows that. Since the beginning of the Golden Knights' existence, he's been a very solid defensive defenseman for them. It certainly is carrying over to this season, too, as he has two goals, seven assists, and a plus-8 rating.

In 314 career games with Vegas, he has 15 goals and 57 points. With that, he also has a whopping 824 hits due to his very physical style of play. Therefore, fans should be excited that the veteran is here to stay.

Amadio was claimed off waivers by the Golden Knights back in November from the Toronto Maple Leafs. Since then, he has been a nice addition to their bottom six. In 25 games played with the team, he has four goals to go along with seven total points. Overall, this contract is a good one, as it's extremely affordable and for multiple years, too,

Thompson is thriving with the Henderson Silver Knights this season. In 21 appearances with the AHL squad, he has an 11-7-3 record, .928 save percentage, and 2.62 goals-against average. He also played a game with the Golden Knights. In it, he saved 23 out of 26 shots for the loss. If he keeps this well in the AHL, one has to wonder if he can at least become a cheap backup goalie. At worst, he will remain a decent third-string option.
