NHL Names All-Star Game Replacements

The NHL has announced that Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi will be replacing Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon at the All-Star Game. Washington Capitals center Evgeny Kuznetsov will also be doing the same for New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox.

MacKinnon was just ruled out for the All-Star Game due to a facial fracture and concussion. Fox, on the other hand, was placed on injured reserve this week with an upper-body injury.

Josi should have been selected for the All-Star Game originally. The 31-year-old is having himself another magnificent season, and the truth is in his stats. In 43 games, he has 13 goals, 30 assists, and a plus-7. He certainly is in the running for his second Norris Trophy with numbers like these.

Kuznetsov also should have already been picked for the All-Star Game, too. In 42 games, he also has 13 goals and 30 assists. After having a 29-point campaign in 41 games last season, the 29-year-old needed a bounce-back season, and he's doing just that.

Although it is nice to see Josi and Kuznetsov rightfully be All-Stars, it is still awful to hear that it is due to two other superstars having to miss it.
