Kings To Be Without Leading Goal Scorer

The Los Angeles Kings have been dealt bad news, as forward Adrian Kempe has been placed in COVID-19 protocol.

Kempe, who is immensely underrated, has been on a real tear this season. In 38 games, he has a team-leading 17 goals to go along with seven helpers. With this fantastic production, he has already set a career-high in goals. He also is only 13 points away from tying his career-high of 37 points, too. He also is appearing in his first-ever All-Star Game next month. It's simply been a year to remember for the 25-year-old.

Kempe's increase in production has been one of the many reasons why the Kings have been such a pleasant surprise this season. At the time of this article, they have a 20-13-5 record and are second-place in the Pacific Division. With this, they are making a legitimate push for the playoffs. That's great to see when remembering that they were near the bottom of the standings last season.

In response to this news, Los Angeles has called up forward Martin Frk. In two games this season, the 28-year-old has a goal.
