Video: Alex Ovechkin Scores With Beautiful One-Timer

In Sunday's game against the Vancouver Canucks, Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin scored his 756th career NHL goal with a beautiful one-timer.

Every goaltender knows Ovechkin is famous for his legendary one-timers. Yet, even though they are expected, it is still nearly impossible to save them. This is one of the many reasons why he is arguably the greatest goal-scorer in the history of the NHL.

Even at 36 years old, Ovechkin isn't showing signs of slowing down. In fact, he is on pace to have one of the best seasons of his Hall of Fame-worthy career. In 39 games, he has a league-leading 26 goals to go along with 28 helpers. His 54 total points also have him at the top of the NHL, too.

Now that Ovechkin has 756 career goals, he is just 10 goals from tying Jaromir Jagr for third all-time. With that, he is just 138 goals away from hitting Wayne Gretzky's record.

Although Ovechkin's goal was nice, the Capitals did fall to the Canucks by a 4-2 final score. With this, they now have a 21-9-9 record, while Vancouver is 17-18-3.
