NHL Rumors: Max Domi Trade On The Way

When we get closer to the trade deadline, don't be surprised to see the Columbus Blue Jackets trade Max Domi. Frank Seravalli recently reported that "there's no doubt" that the Blue Jackets want to move the 26-year-old forward because of his expiring contract.

This isn't the first time that we have seen Domi's name come up in the rumor mill, as the Blue Jackets tried to move him during the offseason. However, they were unable to find a partner, and Domi's $5.3 million cap hit for the entire season likely played a role in this. However, now that he's officially a rental candidate, there should be plenty of suitors.

Domi has dealt with some injury trouble this season, but when healthy, he's been solid for Columbus. In 22 games, he has eight goals and 16 total points. When looking at that kind of production, he could be an excellent addition for a contender's second or third line.

Teams like the New York Rangers, Calgary Flames, and Edmonton Oilers are only a few examples of teams who use a versatile forward like him in their middle six. Yet, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Let's see where he ends up.
