NHL Rumors: One Team to Watch Before the Trade Deadline

This NHL trade deadline is going to be fun to watch as teams try to upgrade their roster for a long Cup run. As we wait to see who becomes buyers and sellers one team to circle - the Nashville Predators.

The Preds currently sit first place in the Central division with a record of 23-11-2 and are absolute fire, winning four in a row and 8-1-1 in their past 10 games. The Preds have always been a team that consistent finds regular season success to make the postseason but they haven't done some damage in a long time. That could be changing this season as the kicker this year - they have over $18 million in cap space to add at the trade deadline.

With the likes of Tomas Hertl of the San Jose Sharks, Mark Giordano of the Seattle Kraken, Jake DeBrusk of the Boston Bruins and ex-Pred Patric Hornqvist of the Florida Panthers available, all these players could be in play for Nashville.

Their resurgence this season is thanks in large part to the goaltending of Juuse Saros. The Finnish netminder has taken over for Pekka Rinne and done an amazing job, posting a 19-9-2 record with a 2.21 GAA and a .930 save %. Saros' strong play along with the comebacks of Matt Duchene and Ryan Johansen who both are playing at a high level and you can expect the Preds to try and fill in on the wings and add another defenseman before Mar. 21.

The Predators are starting to get national attention and expect to see them make some additions before the trade deadline. Certainly a team you may want to sprinkle some futures action on to win the Stanley Cup.
