St Louis Blues Waive Veteran Forward

The St Louis Blues have made a surprising move on Sunday as the team announced they have waived veteran winger James Neal.

The news comes after Neal has appeared in 17 games with the Blues, tallying two goals and two assists. Certainly not the production he or the team was looking for when they signed him to a league minimum contract before the season.

Expectation is Neal will be claimed by another team as even though his numbers may not be where he wants them, he's a proven NHL sniper one a cheap contract. With the amount of injuries, COVID related absences and player movement on the go right now across the league, Neal will find a place to play.

Some teams to watch include the Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, and Vegas Golden Knights. Neal has not played a game since November 22nd and currently sits on LTIR for the Blues. Let's see if someone takes a chance on him by Monday at 2pm eastern.
