Video: 38-Year-Old Mark Giordano Fights 20-Year-Old Adam Raska

The Seattle Kraken's inaugural season has not gone as smoothly as planned unless going on several losing streaks and compiling a 12-23-4 record was part of general manager Ron Francis' long-term vision.  Heading into this season, many analysts pointed to their lack of top-end skill, but that they should be a tough team to play against every night due to their size, defence, and goaltending.  Unfortunately for the expansion team, they seemingly struck out in net when it came to the expansion draft as the trio of Chris Driedger, Philipp Grubauer, and Joey Daccord all have save percentages below .900, and that simply won't cut it in today's NHL.

Without consistent scoring (Jordan Eberle leads the team with 24 points in 37 games) or goaltending, the Kraken have at least still managed to be tough, ranking 11th in the NHL in hits per game, and 8th in the league in fighting majors with 13, according to HockeyFights.com.

Thursday night during a game vs. the San Jose Sharks, Kraken team captain Mark Giordano took a hard hit from 20-year-old Adam Raska behind the net.  After some jostling from defence partner Carson Soucy, the 38-year-old Giordano got back up and dropped the gloves with Raska for what would become the youngster's first official NHL fight:
Giordano had his helmet knocked off his head before the fight even began, but it didn't matter, as the 15-year veteran quickly took care of Raska with a series of right hands, and the Kraken took care of the Sharks 3-2 on their home ice.

Giordano's name has been circulating in trade rumors lately, and with displays like this, who wouldn't want this guy on their team come playoff time?
