Video: Capitals' Hathaway And Sharks' Gadjovich Have LONG Fight After The Game Ends

The San Jose Sharks visited the Washington Capitals Wednesday night, ultimately emerging with a 4-1 victory thanks to goals from Andrew Cogliano, Jonathan Dahlen, Noah Gregor, and Nicolas Meloche.  Sharks goalie James Reimer was perfect other than a Daniel Sprong shot that was put past him right off the faceoff in the early stages of the 3rd period, stopping 32 of 33 shots that he faced.

Apparently not satisfied with merely a road victory, Sharks LW Jonah Gadjovich decided to throw down with the Capitals' Garnet Hathaway after the game had already ended.  The refs surprisingly let the two opposing players fight for over a minute - even moving the net for them at one point - before stepping between them and both teams left the ice without incident directly after.

Here is the fight in its entirety:

No word yet on if either player will be disciplined, as typically starting any kind of fight or skirmish after the game has officially ended earns extra scrutiny vs. something that happened during the game, especially if the NHL can determine what they might claim to be a clear instigator.  In this case, however, the fault (if there's any to go around at all) would be on the officials who didn't do anything to discourage the fight from happening.  Old-school hockey fans sure didn't mind the display of toughness from both sides, and thankfully it was an isolated incident.

The Sharks are in Florida to play the Panthers on Saturday, while the Capitals are visiting the Dallas Stars Friday night.
