Winnipeg Jets To Be Without Top-Six Winger

The Winnipeg Jets have announced that Nikolaj Ehlers has entered COVID-19 protocol.

This certainly isn't good news for the Jets, as they are currently trying to climb themselves back into a playoff spot. At this time, they have a 16-12-5 record and are three points behind the Calgary Flames for the second Wild Card spot. Furthermore, the Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks, and Edmonton Oilers are each ahead of them in the race, too.

It's been another good year for Ehlers, to say the least. In 33 games thus far, he has 13 goals to go along with 12 helpers. Although his production is just a tad bit lower than last season's, it's apparent that he's still a major contributor to their lineup. Therefore, any time he's out of the lineup. it's a negative occurrence.

The Jets are scheduled to play their next game on Jan. 13 against the Detroit Red Wings. There's a very good chance Ehlers won't be on the ice for it.
