NHL Rumors: Bruins Interested In Power Forward

According to Jeff Marek, the Boston Bruins are showing interest in Arizona Coyotes forward Lawson Crouse.

This isn't too surprising to see, as Crouse is the kind of player who fits into Boston's longtime identity. He's a power forward who plays a very heavy game, as his 87 hits in just 32 games show that perfectly. However, the 2015 first-round pick is also producing more offensively this campaign, as he has nine goals and 17 points already. That blend of physicality and goal-scoring could make him a perfect addition for the Bruins.

The Bruins also will have an eventual hole at the third-line left-wing position. Jake DeBrusk has of course requested a trade from the team. A one-for-one deal could be an interesting development, but we could also see Boston use DeBrusk as a part of a package to land a second-line center, too.

The Bruins could use some more grit in their lineup, as it is an element that is lacking from it. If Crouse continues to produce at this rate as we inch closer to the deadline, it should only heighten the Bruins' interest. However, they will surely have competition for his services, as the Philadelphia Flyers have already pursued the winger, too.
