Jets Claim Forward Off Waivers

The Winnipeg Jets have claimed Adam Brooks off waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

This is the fourth time this season alone where Brooks has been claimed from a team off waivers. Actually, this is also the second time this week! First, he went from the Maple Leafs to the Montreal Canadiens. Then he found himself claimed by the Golden Knights. He went back to the Leafs earlier this week but was immediately placed on waivers again. Now, the Jets have joined in on the fun.

Brooks will be aiming to cement himself a permanent spot on Winnipeg's NHL roster. When looking at the Jets' current forward depth, there is a chance that the forward could end up playing bottom-six minutes for them.

In 11 games this season between the Canadiens and Golden Knights, Brooks has two goals and an assist. Over the course of his 29-game career, he has six goals, five assists, and a plus-7 rating. He has the tools to be a solid depth scorer when actually given the chance to play.

Overall, this isn't a bad move for the Jets. They added a player to their roster for free, which is nice considering the fact that they are looking to get back into the playoff race. Here's to hoping this is the last time Brooks has to change teams this season. If so, he'd be sticking around with his hometown team.
