Wild Place Forward On Waivers

For the second time this season, Victor Rask has been placed on waivers by the Minnesota Wild.

Rask has been in the rumor mill as of late, as it does not appear to be in Minnesota's long-term plans. This second waivers placement only makes this even more abundantly clear.

Rask's place on the depth chart has dropped off since last season, so it's understandable that the Wild want to move on from him. Furthermore, it also doesn't help his case that he carries a $4 million cap hit, too.

At times this season, Rask has looked pretty decent, however. In 29 games thus far, he has five goals, eight assists, and a plus-7 rating. His chances of being claimed off waivers would be higher if he had a more acceptable cap hit for what he provides.

It seems very likely that Rask will clear waivers just like he did back in January. Yet, the NHL can be quite unpredictable, so perhaps we will be surprised, and the center end up on a new team Saturday afternoon. Let's see what happens.
