NHL Rumors: 3 Possible Trade Destinations For Conor Garland

After acquiring Conor Garland this past summer, the Vancouver Canucks have already reportedly placed the 25-year-old on the trade block. Their new management's primary goal is to open up more cap space, and his contract would not only be easy to afford but also land the Canucks a nice return. In 41 games with the Canucks thus far, he has 10 goals, 14 assists, and a plus-8 rating. It will be interesting to see if they decide to trade him this deadline season.

Here are three potential landing spots for the winger.

New Jersey Devils: The Devils have been linked to Garland, and some people may be surprised about that. At this juncture of the season, they have a 15-26-5 record and clearly aren't making the playoffs. However, he would be far more than a rental, as he has four years left on his contract after this one. Therefore, he could be a nice long-term fit with their young centers like Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier. New Jersey is looking to move past their rebuild, keep in mind.

New York Rangers: The Rangers have expressed interest in a lot of players, and Garland is one of them. They certainly could use some help at right wing, and that is especially true when remembering that Sammy Blais is done for the season. The Rangers also have the prospect pool to make a deal with the Canucks rather easily.

Boston Bruins: The Bruins are certainly interested in bringing Garland home. The Massachusetts native would be an immediate fit in their top six, as they could use a jolt at right wing. Yet, it's also been reported that the Canucks would want Fabian Lysell in return, so the Bruins would have to be okay with moving on from their top prospect.
