NHL Rumors: 4 Teams Linked To Conor Garland

According to Elliotte Friedman, the Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames, New Jersey Devils, and New York Rangers are all expressing interest in Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland.

As we previously reported, the Canucks have been listening to offers regarding Garland. It makes sense that many teams want him, as the 25-year-old has been playing very well in his first season with the Canucks. In 39 games, he has 10 goals and 14 assists. Yet, with the team having new management, it is clear that they are at least considering the idea of moving multiple players.

The Bruins were linked to Garland during the offseason but were unable to strike a deal with the Arizona Coyotes. The Massachusetts native certainly would be a nice addition to Boston's lineup. He would be an upgrade over Craig Smith in the top six. Yet, he may not be their biggest target, as they need a second-line center more.

The Flames definitely would benefit from adding a second-line right winger like Garland. He has more of a scoring touch than Blake Coleman and could help give the Flames a much-needed spark to help cement themselves a playoff spot. When looking at how outrageous the Pacific Division is right now, everything is still up for grabs.

Seeing the Devils in on Garland is a bit surprising, as they currently have a 15-23-5 record and aren't making the playoffs. However, he also has four years left on his contract after this one, so he'd obviously be more than just a rental.

Yet, out of the quartet, it seems that the Rangers could use Garland the most. They have been in need of another right wing all season, and this became especially true after Sammy Blais was ruled out for the remainder of the campaign. With the Rangers looking to go on a run, adding Garland would certainly help with that.
