NHL Rumors: Teams Calling About Coyotes Forward

Although Arizona Coyotes forward Johan Larsson will be out until after the trade deadline, teams are still expressing interest in him, according to Elliotte Friedman.

Larsson just had surgery on his sports hernia earlier this month, so he understandably will have to miss more time from here. However, assuming everything goes well with his recovery, he should be able to return by the postseason. Therefore, it isn't too surprising to hear that there is still some interest in him around the league.

Larsson is currently having a career-best season, as he has six goals and nine assists in 29 games. To put things into better perspective, his career-high in points is 18, and he did that in 62 games with the Buffalo Sabres during the 2019-20 season. Therefore, he's found a way to be more of an offensive threat this season, and teams love to have that in their bottom six.

Larsson is currently in the final year of his contract and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. Therefore, even if currently sidelined, he is one of Arizona's prime rental candidates. It will be interesting to see if a trade comes to fruition.
