Panthers Sign Defenseman

The Florida Panthers have signed defenseman Petteri Lindbohm to a one-year, $750,000 contract. He also has been placed on waivers by the team.

Lindbohm was a part of Team Finland at this month's Winter Olympics. During the tournament, he recorded two points in six games. With that, he also played this season with Jokerit, where he had three goals and five assists in 45 contests.

Assuming Lindbohm clears waivers, he will be another depth defenseman for the Panthers. At this juncture of the season, they have a 35-13-5 record and gearing up for the postseason. Adding another veteran to the table certainly is a nice way to help with that.

Lindbohm will be looking to get into his first NHL action since the 2016-17 season with the St. Louis Blues. In 40 NHL career games, he has two goals and one assist. Let's see if he is given the chance to build on these numbers from here.
