Rangers Forward To Miss More Time

New York Rangers head coach Gerard Gallant told reporters that Kaapo Kakko will be out for at least one more month.

Kakko has been sidelined with an upper-body injury and has not played since January 21st's contest against the Carolina Hurricanes. Now, it's clear that he is, unfortunately, going to have to miss more time from here.

In 37 games this season, Kakko has five goals, nine assists, and a plus-7 rating. It's fair to state that the 2019 second-overall pick is still not taking off offensively, but he is still showing signs of improvement defensively. However, his season will now have to be put on pause for an even longer amount of time due to the severity of his current injury.

Kakko's long-term absence creates another hole in New York's offense. It has been reported that the Rangers are looking for help at right wing, so perhaps this will make them aim to acquire one sooner rather than later. When looking at the players we could see moved this deadline season, they do have plenty of potential options.

With this news, the team has also called up Morgan Barron from the Hartford Wolf Pack.
