Video: Yanni Gourde Bloodies Urho Vaakanainen With Dirty Hit

The expansion Seattle Kraken are visiting the Boston Bruins tonight at TD Garden arena for the first time in franchise history. Both teams are looking to bounce back after losses in their most recent games, but the game has gotten off to a mostly uneventful start, with a scoreless first period of play. Early in the second period, however, we got some excitement when Kraken center Yanni Gourde hit Bruins defenseman Urho Vaakainen from behind into the boards.

Gourde was surprisingly only sentenced to two minutes in the penalty box for boarding, but the NHL's Player Safety Department will surely be taking another look at the play. Gourde was jumped on the faceoff by Curtis Lazar while Derek Forbort and former Bruin Jeremy Lauzon had a tussle away from the play.
