Golden Knights Sign Defenseman

The Vegas Golden Knights have signed Derrick Pouliot to an NHL contract for the remainder of the season.

Pouliot has spent this season on an AHL deal with the Henderson Silver Knights and has played well in the process. In 42 games with the team, he had two goals to go along with 17 assists. Overall, he clearly impressed Vegas in the process, as they have given him this sweet promotion. He will now have the opportunity to play in the NHL for the first time since the 2019-20 season with the St. Louis Blues.

Pouliot was selected 8th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Although he never blossomed into that top talent defenseman that many believed he would, he now has an opportunity to try to cement himself a spot in the NHL permanently.

In 202 career games between the Penguins, Vancouver Canucks, and Blues, Pouliot has eight goals, 40 assists, and 48 points.
