NHL Rumors: Buffalo Sabres Trying to Find Partner for Owen Power via Trade

The Buffalo Sabres are preparing their lineup for the addition of defenseman Owen Power as the blue chip prospect will join the big club before season's end. The  6-foot-6 smooth skating defenseman has an impressive resume for a 19-year-old without a single game of NHL experience which includes an Olympic games and a World Championship.

General manager Kevyn Adams has been working the phones gathering the price tags on a variety of right-handed and left-handed options. Adams has three first-round picks at the 2022 entry draft and three second-round picks after next season so depending on how much he wants to spend, the young executive should be able to land an impact defenseman.

Adding Power to the Sabres lineup is one thing but what Buffalo's management is worried about now is who he plays with long-term.
Power is going to have a long career and Sabres fans should be excited for what's to come. Along with Rasmus Dahlin and Henri Jokiharju, adding another top-four defenseman to their group could go a long way for the future of their wins column. Adams isn't worried about a rental for the playoffs, he's trying to piece together a future with his franchise. Jakob Chychrun of the Arizona Coyotes would be an interesting fit as they would love to get their hands on some of the Sabres upcoming draft picks.
