NHL Rumors: Maple Leafs Linked to Marc-Andre Fleury Deal

The Toronto Maple Leafs have one of the best offenses in the league and lately they've been relying on it heavily to win hockey games. The Maple Leafs goaltending duo of Jack Campbell and Petr Mrazek have not been anything to write home about of late as the trend continues in Toronto's crease.

While general manager Kyle Dubas remains confident in his tandem there's been some buzz lately about a potential three-team trade involving the Chicago Blackhawks and the reigning Vezina trophy winner and Stanley Cup champion Marc-Andre Fleury. Adding a third team would allow Fleury's cap hit to reduce to $1.75 million and be much easier for the Leafs to absorb. It's seems like a long shot at this point to say the least.

Everything leading up to the trade deadline has pointed to Fleury being content to ride out the rest of the season with the Blackhawks. A return to the Pittsburgh Penguins or Vegas Golden Knights seems much more likely if he does end up moving at all.

As for the Maple Leafs, look for general manager Kyle Dubas try to acquire a top-four defenseman; Toronto has been giving up a ton of goals of late and some are pointing to the talent on defense to not tie up sticks and win battles as a number of the goals being scored lately on Campbell and Mrazek have been tipped in front. It's going to be an interesting couple weeks for Leafs Nation, expect the unexpected.
