NHL Rumors: Penguins Interested In Sabres Defenseman

The Pittsburgh Penguins are interested in Buffalo Sabres defenseman Robert Hagg, according to Jose Yohe.

With the Penguins looking to go on another playoff run, it makes sense that they are aiming to add to their defensive depth. Hagg could end up playing bottom-pair minutes for them or even be one of their extra d-man. Either way, he is a player worth considering.

Hagg has had himself a pretty decent season with the Sabres. In 48 games, he has one goal to go along with seven assists. He has never been an offensively dominant defenseman, but he is rather known for his reliable defensive play. This and his strong style of play is likely why the Penguins are considering adding him.

It will be interesting to see if the Penguins add him to their group. However, they would need Buffalo to retain some salary, as their cap space is limited.
