St Louis Blues Defenseman Out Weeks With Upper-Body Injury

St Louis Blues have announced defenseman Torey Krug will be out week-to-week with an upper-body injury. Krug left Tuesday's game against the Washington Capitals and did not return.

It was late in the period when Krug appeared to get injured and while he finished the play and made his way to the bench, he shortly after was seen walking down the tunnel, indicating it could be something serious. Turns out it's likely a separated shoulder keep him out of the lineup for the next few weeks at least.

So far in 57 games this season, the mobile defenseman has recorded eight goals and 27 assists and for a team like the Blues who were extremely active in trade discussions trying to land some more depth, this is brutal news.

The 30-year-old Krug is signed through the 2026-27 season at $6.5 million and holds no-trade protection against 15 teams. The Blues are hopeful he'll be back mid-April and help their team down the stretch and into the Stanley Cup playoffs.
