Colorado Avalanche Receive Concerning News

The Colorado Avalanche announced forward Nazem Kadri will be missing 'some time' as the Avs forward didn't play on Saturday afternoon against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Kadri was out of the lineup due to an upper-body injury and it sounds like it could be serious enough for him to miss several weeks.

Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar spoke on the injury and is hopeful he sees Kadri in his game one lineup for the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The 31-year-old is having a monster season and at the perfect time. Kadri is a pending unrestricted free agent and will be hitting the open market this summer. So far in 65 games, the veteran center has recorded 26 goals and 57 assists. He's flourished in a larger role this season in mile high as the Avalanche have had their fair share of injuries up front.

Colorado continues to battle it out with the injury bug as they are already missing captain Gabriel Landeskog and young defensemen Samuel Girard and Bowen Byram. Kadri now has his name added to the list and Avs fans are hopeful everyone can be ready to go for the postseason. It's Stanley Cup or bust in Denver and they will need all their firepower to get it done when it matters most.
