NHL Rumors: Flyers Defenseman Wants Out Of Philadelphia

According to Anthony Di Marco of the Fourth Period, some members of the Philadelphia Flyers organization are questioning if Ryan Ellis wants to remain with the team. This is because he has not been at the team's facilities for several weeks in a row.

Yes, Ellis is injured and has been for multiple months. However, players normally still visit team facilities while injured, so his lack of appearances is understandably worrying the Flyers.

If Ellis were to officially request a move from Philadelphia, it would be hard for the Flyers to get too much back for him. This is because the 31-year-old played in just four games this season, where he had one goal and four assists. Although he played well when healthy, there's just too much risk acquiring a d-man who has dealt with such injury trouble all year. This is especially the case when remembering that he has a $6.25 million cap hit until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.

Nevertheless, if Ellis wants out, he will likely need to play more games as a Flyer to get his value back up.
