NHL Rumors: Bruins Forward Wants To Stay Put

Curtis Lazar is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, but his time with the Boston Bruins may not be coming to a close. While speaking with reporters, the 27-year-old noted that there is mutual interest between both parties to get a deal done.

The Bruins acquired Lazar as a part of the Taylor Hall trade during the 2020-21 season. Since then, he has proven to be a solid fourth-liner for the Bruins. In 70 games this season, he scored eight goals and added eight assists. Yet, he was most effective when it came to the physical side of the game, as he had a career-high 186 hits.

It will be intriguing to see if the Bruins can re-sign Lazar before free agency begins. If so, expect to see him right back on the fourth line in 2022-23.
