An Update On Zdeno Chara's Playing Future

While speaking with Matt Porter of the Boston Globe, Zdeno Chara's agent, Matt Keator, said that the 45-year-old defenseman will make a decision about his playing future in September.

Chara just completed his 24th NHL season and still was effective. In 72 games, he scored two goals and had 14 points. With that, he was as physical as ever, as he recorded 85 penalty minutes. Although he is no longer the Norris Trophy-caliber defenseman he once was, he still works well in a bottom-six role. Thus, if he decides to play and hits the open market, teams will be calling.

Alas, we will have to wait and see what Chara decides on doing in September.
