Cassidy Wants To Coach "As Soon As Possible"

Deposed Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy addressed the media on Thursday, and said he has already spoken to "a number of NHL teams".

If the 57-year-old coach has any say in it, he will not be out of work for long

Do I want to coach in this league? Yes, and as soon as possible. It’s what I do, is to coach, and I love to do it.

Obviously I have a family, so I have to make sure it’s the right opportunity for both myself and my family. And that I’m the right fit for them and they’re the right fit for me. But yes, 100 percent.

Cassidy admitted that yes, he wanted to continue on with the Bruins, but “I’m a free agent, obviously, now and I haven’t been in this position for a long time,” said Cassidy. “I didn’t ask to be in this position, to be perfectly honest with you."

But now that he is, he's going to use every means available to find a nice landing spot for him and his family. And quick.

According to reports, he's already on the radar of the Philadelphia Flyers and the Detroit Red Wings, amongst others.
