Flames Goalie Heading To Sweden

The Calgary Flames are losing Adam Werner, as the 25-year-old goaltender has signed a two-year contract with the Malmo Redhawks of the SHL.

Werner did not make an appearance at the NHL level this season for the Flames. Instead, he spent the whole year in with the Stockton Heat, where he had a 3.04 GAA and .886 SV% in 21 games played. Overall, it's fair to say he struggled.

Yet, Werner will now have the chance to play in Sweden. With the Redhawks, he should get plenty of opportunities to succeed. We here at NHLTR wish him luck as he continues his career back home.
