NHL Rumors: Penguins Prospect Done In Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Penguins have lost another one of their prospects, as Niclas Almari has signed a two-year deal with Luuko of the Finnish Liiga.

Almari was actually loaned to Luuko for the majority of this season by the Penguins, so perhaps this is a move that we could have predicted. When playing in North America this campaign, he split time between the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Wheeling Nailers. In 19 games combined between the two teams, he had one goal and five assists.

With Almari being 24 years old and never receiving a call-up from the Penguins, it makes sense that he is heading back home to Finland to continue his pro career.
