Minnesota Wild GM Blasts Cam Talbot's Agent

Minnesota Wild general manager Bill Guerin doesn't care what agents have to say, he's trying to win as many hockey games as possible. The team recently re-signed Marc-Andre Fleury to a two-year contract and it's pissed off Cam Talbot and his agent, more specifically.

The two met with Guerin over the weekend and Talbot's agent George Bazos, spoke with TSN's Pierre LeBrun after the meeting and told LeBrun 'we stated our positions, now Billy has a lot to think about'. Well that completely set off Guerin who didn't feel the comments were warranted. The Wild's GM spoke with The Athletic's Michael Russo and absolutely teed-off on Bazos:

I don't have shit to do. Cam Talbot's under contract. George can say whatever the hell he wants. My team's set right now, and that's the way it goes. We can have all the discussions we want. Cam's a member of our team. We really like Cam. All we're trying to do is win.

The 35-year-old Talbot appears to be locked in with the Wild next season as the 1-B option. He's set to make $3.66 against the salary cap and while there's a number of teams including the Edmonton Oilers, Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres who could use his services, sounds like Guerin's holding onto him.....for now.
