Nashville Predators Add Some Goaltending Depth Behind Saros

The Nashville Predators have found Juuse Saros a backup tender as the Preds have agreed to terms with Kevin Lankinen on a one-year deal worth $1.5 million.

The goalie movement this summer has been crazy to watch and Lankinen was one of the younger options on the market who wasn't as proven. The 27-year-old finished up his two-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks, a deal where he was making $800,000 per season.

A nice raise for the Finnish netminder as he appeared in 32 games last season with the Blackhawks, posting a 8-15-6 record and a .891 Sv% and a 3.50 goals against average.

He's not a strong #1 contender, however with Saros in the crease he's set for backup minutes and backup minutes only. Saros is one of the best goaltenders in the league and the Preds are hopeful Lankinen can find his groove once again as he showed flashes of brilliance with the Blackhawks.
