NHL Rumors: 2 Rangers Want Out Of New York

According to Arthur Staple, Alexandar Georgiev and Julien Gauthier have requested trades from the Rangers.

Georgiev's name has been in the rumor mill since the regular season, but a move has not happened. Now with a trade request officially out in the open, it will be intriguing to see if he is finally dealt this summer. In 33 games this season, he had a 15-10-2 record and .898 SV%.

Gauthier hasn't been able to cement himself as a full-time NHL player, and that is unlikely to happen with the Rangers' forward depth. Thus, a move could benefit the 2016 first-round pick. In 49 games this season, he had three goals and four assists. Although he signed a one-year, $800,000 contract extension, that is likely to help the chances of finding him a new home.
