NHL Rumors: 3 Free Agents Linked to Buffalo Sabres

The Buffalo Sabres are a young up-and-coming team who showed last season they will be tough to play against moving forward. The Jack Eichel saga is long behind them and now the focus shifts to an Owen Power led team who have an orchestra of young talented players surrounding the top pick. Let's take a look at three free agents who could end up being a Sabre by the end of the summer:

Evan Rodrigues

The Sabres would be smart to add Rodrigues who spent five seasons with the franchise early on in his career. He's matured and developed since heading to the Pittsburgh Penguins and now could bring his secondary scoring back to northern New York. Rodrigues can play all over the lineup and is as competitive as they come on the ice. Certainly an option for the Sabres to consider as the market has been quiet on E-Rod and they could likely land him for a discounted price.

Sonny Milano

Some were surprised the Anaheim Ducks walked away from Sonny Milano as he's coming off a great season in California. Milano finished the year with 34 points in 66 games and the 26-year-old is someone who would fit in nicely in Buffalo. He can play either wing and up and down the lineup, look for the Sabres and Milano to be linked these next few weeks as the 'secondary' market starts to sort itself out.

PK Subban

While it's not the bright lights he desires, PK Subban heading to Buffalo to play with his brother Malcolm would be a nice story this offseason. The Sabres are desperate for some help on the right side of their blue line and Subban won't cost $9 million to sign anymore. He's still capable of being a force on the power play with his booming one-timer and he's a name that could bring some excitement to a fan base who could use some more. Subban to Buffalo something to watch as we carry on with July and creep closer to next season.
