NHL Rumors: Islanders Forward Linked To Canadiens

According to The Fourth Period, the Canadiens are one of the teams currently linked to Anthony Beauvillier.

Beauvillier is viewed as a trade target this offseason. The 25-year-old has a $4.15 million cap hit until the completion of the 2023-24 season, so he certainly doesn't come cheap. Furthermore, after their very rough 2021-22 season, the Islanders are hoping to bring in scorers this summer. They need to free up cap space to do that, which is why Beauvillier has entered the rumor mill.

The Canadiens could be a good landing spot for Beauvillier. The Quebec native would be a lock to play top-six minutes there, which in turn could benefit his offensive totals. This past season was a bit underwhelming for him, as he had just 34 points in 75 games. We will have to wait and see if the 2015 first-round pick ends up becoming a Canadien before the offseason is complete.
